Look at my sig, by your definition i am going to bigger and better things so i shouldn't be excited for it, but i am. Isn't it possible that both ideas (media and university) may be a factor in the whole anti/pro-prom debate? And i doubt he meant to say that EVERYONE who moves on to uni isn't excited as about prom as people not moving on to uni/college/higher education, he said "for the most part". i'm moving onto uni too, and it doesn't mean i'm not excited about prom, it just means that my excitement may not be on the same level as someone who considers high school the end of the schooling era (which, if it was, would make prom a more significant event for most people).

CNAT WAIT TILL MINE i have da hottest dress eva!!! omg why do you have to write like that. you don't sound very intelligent when you do that. actually most of the people who are criticizing prom are current university students who have already had their prom. or they're current high school students who are smart enough to realize that spending hundreds of dollars on one night that will be completely meaningless in a few months is pointless. consider the amount of money you'll need for university and blowing a lot on prom seems stupid. 1 We are from Mac! 2 A little bit louder! 3 I still can't hear you! 4 more more more... i know people who are spending several hundred---meaning close to a thousand. i'm all for making memories too, which is why i used that money to pay for my grad trip to ny---at around 800 total (that includes both transportation, housing, tickets to plays and sports games, entrance to different events, plus the money i spent on food and shopping and souvenirs) i think my money was spent much better, and if i can say so, i'd consider the graduation experience i had as being more worthwhile than one drunken night i probably won't remember. one week of freaking fun in new york (and with a lot of my good friends also graduating this year) + all the shiz i get to keep >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a night of partying and a dress i'll never wear again.
i'm very happy with my decision

I thought you just meant, because its commerce, rather than "any other program" (being not as good), since QC has that rep. I'm going to Queen's sci. and hopefully med school (but thats a long time away). I'm excited too, I don't think it matters what you're going on to, as mine is bigger and better too. It's about an awesome night, who wouldn't be excited about that?!

i'm very happy with my decision YES! A grad trip is so much more worthwhile. Well couldn't you have done both? I'm going to Montreal for 5 days and I'm going to prom. Spent about $80 on a dress that was on-sale and the prom ticket is about $85. I'm planning to spend about $600 on the trip. So the total is just under $800.
