I LOVE London!
I have been in the city now doing post-sec for 3 years and I absolutely love this city! There are SO many bars, parties, places to hang out, 2 malls, tons to do!
During FROSH, You have the option of attending UWO, Brescia, Kings, or Fanshawe and take part in the activities. I have no idea who's coming next sept for FROSH but it's an amazing city. Anyways, I figured this would be a great place to start advertising some social events taking place in the city to get everyone interested, in the know and possibly going!
Cheers

Hey! I was just there yesterday (from Winnipeg) for a scholarship interview for Western, and I didn't get a chance to tour the city much but i really enjoyed the campus!! I just found out that by "party city" ppl usually mean party town, in general? It seems like a nice place though isn't london the "armpit" or something? correct me if i'm wrong though! or it has a rep for being a smoggy city? • Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing • Western Babyyy!

I'd say (if you want upclass and expensive but nice there's the barking frog) i prefer the bar called Ceeps where many underagers go mostly first and second years go there...then there's TJ baxters.... molly blooms....the honest lawyer to grab a bit of food.... uhmm and as well there's a good bar which specials every night of the week which is particularly awesome! like for example country western wednesdays at TJS

Yep. Swags has got the idea. Ceeps is a favourite for most. I personally like Molly Bloom's for the atmosphere, but Ceeps is always the safest bet.
Jack's is another popular place. I can think of others too, but throwing out names ain't going to help, so let me just reassure you that there are PLENTY of "hotspots" for university and college students.

Hahah. London has something called "public transit" (that is actually intended for use, unlike Sarnia's), which makes getting around pretty easy.

I live in London and just turned 19. Almost all of the bars on Richmond St downtown are great. I would avoid GT's though. Whenever you get here, just follow the crowds on a Fri or Sat night and you will find a great place to hang out. A word of caution though, Molly Blooms scans ID so it can be really hard to get in with a fake ID. You'll find something. Also the UWO bar called The Wave is fantastic. It was recently renovated and is really nice.

Only one person I know lives downtown. It isn't that downtown is sketchy (well, it kinda is); it's that it is far away from campus, and the area around campus is nice. I don't know what rent is like downtown, but I can tell you that around campus, the rent ranges from 350-650 per month. Houses and townhouses tend to be cheaper than apartments (which are more in the 500-650+ range). If you want to live in a decent house or townhouse near campus, expect to pay about 450 per month per person.
