everyone is going to have a different opinion, but i think in the downtown area where you are in the city... i love the city vibe =]

or yeah downtown or the main streets where your surrounded by mall, grocery stores and recreation.

I disagree with the above posters; you want to be as close to campus as possible. Downtown is like a half-hour bus ride from Fanshawe... that is a lot of commuting... and if you have 8 AM class, it is a real pain in the a$$.

There is a nice little neighbourhood to the north/northeast of Fanshawe, and it is filled with student housing (you should have no problem finding a place). However, because of its proximity to campus, expect to pay a little more. Fanshawe isn't exactly in a nice location (it isn't close to a mall, and it is kind of far from downtown), but there is some development near campus (e.g. a couple grocery stores, Pizza Hut... there are a lot of little places along Oxford---an easy bus ride). But seeing as you are from Kincardine, I'm sure the stuff around Fanshawe will keep you happy.
