Yay, or else you're going to have to get Rogers or Bell to come into your room and set up internet, and I'm not entirely sure they allow that in traditional style, suite you may get lucky

Isnt reznet simply wireless internet...? Can I share with roommate? or go to the library, because 280 is not cheap for internet IMO

That's $35 a month, maybe a LITTLE bit more than what your parents probably pay currently.

i'm pretty sure i'm just going to freeload off the wireless stations or free places wherever they exist. i've got a laptop and everything but i'm going to save every dime considering i might end up paying an extra 1800 for a suite lol

reznet isn't wireless in dorm, actually they don't allow you to set up wireless in living areas. around educational facilities tho it's wireless (or should me to my knowledge).

I send my money through my bank on saturday but still haven't received conformation. Does this mean that my res spot has been cancelled?? This sucks considering that there are people who sent their deposit after me but received the conformation before.

FYI you CAN get external ISP in traditional-style residences, but it is actually cheaper to go with RezNet (assuming you don't get the absolute lowest level of internet with Bell or Rogers or whatever)... and I find RezNet just as reliable... plus you can use DC++ (lets you download even the most obscure stuff at rates like 10-100 times that of Limewire) if you are hooked up to RezNet.

I just received my conformation e-mail and access to questionnaire today. Apparently their online service was slow and caused a delay in sending the e-mails yesterday.

Yeah, DC++ always makes me burn with envy when my university friends talk about downloading movies. I'm looking forward to it XD

Heard about a certain usage limit tho, how bad is that?

I got the e-mail in my hotmail account. If you're unsure, go to the residence login page. Put in your student number and pin and you can check to see if they have received your money.

To the person who asked about wireless in residence... none of the residences have it except in the main lounge for some of the newer ones. In Perth, I knew someone who was 2 doors down from the building lounge so she had wireless in her room because she was so close. I was located on the south side of the building which meant I could get wireless in my room too because of the Althouse library (which is really close). So certain parts of the buildings will have wireless available, some won't.

I would recommend getting Reznet because everyone watches movies and catches up on TV in rez (seriously. "you're bored? wanna watch a movie in my room?") and that's the best source because it's pretty fast (10 minutes for a TV show, 25 minutes for a movie). This past year, the TVs didn't come in until like... mid October (or later) so everyone got their shows through reznet for the first month and half.
