Our school cafeteria has amazing selection. Everyday, there are different "meals", as well as there being fries, pasta, sandwhiches, and drinks. Its also great that our caf provides vegetarian and vegan options, which helps at least me out! I do hope that our cafeteria begins serving more health conscious foods, which don't cost a ton to eat--we do have salads, but they come in a small portion, and cost 3$.

I'm at Trent and you really can only get a personal pizza and pop for under $10 at the Flex Caf's and at the board meal Caf's every meal is $7 + and thats Breakfast!!!! Now I am only willing to pay that becasue the food here is pretty decent.

my school doesn't have a cafeteria.... they encourage us to eat in the classrooms with the teachers... hah, as if.... anyways, half the students go out to this street near the school that has a few restaurants/pizza shops/bakeries/etc for lunch, or sit around in the hallways and get kicked outside halfway thru lunch in the middle of winter. i'm so glad i'm done in a few months

Our school cafeteria used to be great, until the province brought in a healthy policy that all of the high schools are required to follow. As a result, my high school changed companies and all of the food has a different taste now. Last year we weren't able to have pizza with meat on it, and the pizza is incredibly thin and usually sticks to the plate (in addition to the fact that you pay nearly $3 for one slice). We have cookies, but they're usually either as hard as a rock or barely cooked (not to mention that they make all of the cookies, even the ones that are supposed to be "oatmeal" or "chocolate" out of apples, which is incredibly odd tasting). The Rice Krispies squares do not stay together because they barely use any marshmallow, they're essentially soggy Rice Krispies.
As far as the vending machines go, we can't have any pop, chips (unless they're baked) or even granola bars in our vending machines. They make potato wedges to replace "fries" but they are never fully cooked or they are left out for a long time because they are barely warm when you get them. For those who actually want to try to eat healthy, they usually only have about 2 different meal options a day, so there isn't much choice.
The sad thing is that we're losing nearly $20,000 in revenue from the vending machines each year with this new policy, as our school is located near many fast food places, local restaurants and convenience stories that people have been spending their money at instead. The lost money from the vending machines went directly towards athletics, how ironic.
