Just a small point, shouldn't debate about our health care options go... say... not in the "How much money have you won?" thread?

Haha touche! Back to the thread topic then, $115 000!

wow congrats smile how are you making do with all those requirements though---you know some scholarships say that you cannot have more than x dollars from other scholarships in a year to get theirs?

final count for me is going to be $5500, but there is also a scholarship that comes out in august for $500 more that i have an extremely good chance of winning.

Yes that has been a bit of a problem, and I won't end up accepting all of the $115 000. I could not take any of Millenium, and $20 000 of what I have won will be saved for grad school (if I go).

I just found out about $1000 that I got! Electrofed foundation scholarship.

So I think my total (that I've accepted) might be $30,000??

I have a feeling some of those people have been offered that much but not actually accepted all of it. For example one university offered $10,000 in entrance scholarships, a different one offered $20,000, etc. Obviously you can accept only one of those offers. In my case I could claim I have won something like $80,000, when in reality I turned down $50,000 because I didn't want to go to the U of C and have received about $30,000 so far at U of A. Or in the case of TD or Millenium there's a cap on the amount you're allowed to have in one year.

=) That is very impressive!!!

I'm sitting at $121,000 and I hope to save $20,000+ for grad school and had to decline atleast $16,000. Millenium, TD and also Loran (in my case) all have caps on how much funding you can recieve outside of their scholarship. As far as advice goes, start applying early and you can never apply for too many scholarships! Oh and a HUGE pet peeve of mine is when people say they don't have the time to fill out the application, thats a load of crap lol They have the time but lack the willpower!

I come from a tiny town and an even smaller school with not a lot of opportunity... lol... and am extremely nevous about the costs and pretty much everything else tha goes along with uni life... but to the topic... I have recieved about 22, 000. I am happy with that cheese it pays for lots...

I've only won 22k in major scholarships (plus another 1k or so in small awards), which is made up of a Waterloo automatic entrance (declined) and two Millennium scholarships.
Millennium was the only scholarship I had the lack-of-laziness to apply for, but the first one paid for my first year CEGEP tuition and the second will pay for my undergrad years in uni, so it's enough. smile

Deadlines vary. Start looking now and write down the deadlines for all the scholarships you apply for. Some have very early deadlines (Nov, Dec)

I can't believe people are saying they 'only' got a few thousand, or are making sad faces or saying 'unfortunately'!

ANYTHING is amazing! So many people get nothing, and so many people enter, than even $300 is something to be proud of!
