^If you go to waterloo you can still party at laurier for a social scene. haha.
So instead of studying for my calculus test in a couple hours I tallied up the number of times each school was mentioned :\ and voila :
1. Waterloo (13) 2. U of T (12) 3. UBC, McGill (9) 4. Western, Guelph, York (5) 5. McMaster, Queen's, Ottawa U (4) 6. Trent, Ryerson (3) 7. Dalhousie, Laurier (2) 8. Mt. Allison, SFU, OCAD, Saskatchewan, Brock, Laurentian, Lakehead, Carleton (1)
Lol. Despite how unscientific this is, I think it reflects a few things. :S This kinda mirrors a few rankings out there so I guess either we are totally persuaded by Macleans, Globe&Mail, etc; or those published rankings are pretty up to snuff.

Ohh and people in India, especially those who are in the technology-ish industry apparently have a high regard for Waterloo as well.
People in Oceania like the University of Manitoba and see a lot of opportunities there (I concur)
People in South America apparently like Universite de Montreal and McGill.

Maybe we should break it down by program? For exampe, for business, it's gotta be Western. For Computer Science or Math, I'd go with Waterloo. Veterinary - Guelph Fine Arts - OCAD or Sheridan. I like York for Film though.
Anyone else have favourites by program? Def. Ryerson & Carleton for Journalism. I like Ryerson's program better, but I like Carleton's location better. I think Ryerson beats Carleton out by a bit for me, also because it's closer to home.

My list consists of University of Toronto, McGill, University of British Columbia, Waterloo and MaC. I guess it really varies by student's location and prospective major when selecting a university.

I love how the University of Guelph is almost never mentioned, yet it has been ranked number 1 for several years and consistently scored in the top 5, sourcing many national surveys on Canadian universities. It is not a school for everyone, but it is home of the OVC, the equally prestigeous OAC, and has an overall outstanding environmental and international (development) focus. Just thought I'd give Guelph a little boost, it was scoring kind of low ;)
...Not to mention, what they say about the food is true...it's really good! ..(probably because the food actually lives across the street)

I think the University of Toronto - St. George is the most well rounded.
Basically, every program offered is high quality, and the reputation is something you can be proud of.
Also, they are now reducing the undergraduate population and increasing the graduate population, and making a few changes to the curriculum, so I think in the next few years, it's only going to get better.
