How do Health Scis dress? :S lol ArtSci kids sound so quirky. Bah. I have no chance in this program now because I don't make the cut offs >_>. (Bio mark for midterm is going to be 78 o_o.. and so my midterm average will end up as 89. Lmaoo. ) Oh well! I will have one less choice to make my university decision easier come May . Good luck guys! Yeah there's a lot of people here aspiring to get into med school...Keeners. Hopefully I have some small chance of getting into Public Health. woot.

I'm not set on med school. Not yet anyway. I'm interested in many other things. Yes, you can be interested in other things. You can pursue other things. BHSc degree is very versatile.....trust me! In fact, I think it would be great to see others in this program who want to pursue something other than medicine. I talked to a few of the profs and academic counselors and they were so happy to meet someone who's not planning to go to med school. And again, the whole close family-like atmosphere...the profs and counselors hooked me up with health sci alumni who they thought would be helpful to talk to. I sent everyone emails, replies in my inbox the next day. Nothing is set in stone for me as of now. It's important to keep your options and your mind open. =)

Yeah unfortunately the faculty rivalries are pretty brutal here. I love health scis to be honest. All the ones that I have met come from the most interesting backgrounds and they're always really nice people. I've never met an arrogant one. So don't worry you won't be hated by all non-health scis A lot of the science people have a little bit of hostilty towards health scis because they didn't get into the program and they see them as their biggest competition for med school. I find artscis actually have it rougher than healthscis because a lot of people find them really weird and INSANELY arrogant. They also have an unofficial feud going with healthsci which they think is hilarious lol Humanities has it the worst with the faculty bashing. Darn engineers... artscis have a ONE-SIDED rivalry with hthsci. we LOVE artscis. yes, they are crazy. yes, some are extremely arrogant. but they're really nice and funny, except they like to make fun of us by dressing up as hthscis for halloween. oh well, imitation is the greatest form of flattery. and humanities/soc sci get it pretty bad. the 'oh, you do no work' spiel. engineers just get bashed by everyone. I think this happens at EVERY university though. remember kids: it's all in good nature! Artscis dress up as Healthscis for halloween!? Haha, that is hilarious! Actually, now that I think about it, that's something I would do... then again, I also partake in such randomness as carving a pumpkin to resemble Voltaire ( yah, I'm really cool) Pourquoi?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf94uiIbItg

I randomly showed up at fall preview and, not satisfied with the "standard tour", got an artsci to show me their common room. It was pretty great, I looked at some of their books and stole their candy (strawberry flavour, as I recall). I also somehow got into a conversation about tea parties and teacups... i received the offer from BHSc in early April. my top 6 average was about 96. some said that even 98% average guy can't make
it but somehow, i did. i don't really know how this judgment works but i'm pretty sure +95% is HIGHLY recommended. I'm
probably the first guy who received the offer from mac. ( 4/2 exactly,) is it because i live in B.C?
anyways, is it true that out of 160 students in its first year, almost a half of them get cut? i'm so scared

first off, congratulations on your offer! out of province kids DO get theirs early, so yeah you received yours before anyone else.
and what do you mean by cut? no-one gets cut within this program.in fact, we get even more people come second year (transfer students)
it's not just BHSc... it's BHSexyyy!!! mac hthsci '11, 1st year rep

LOL that is not true at all! =) No one I know has quit in their first year from BHSc. I know of only one person that transferred out this year because they were much interested in another program of study. Trust me, you'll love it or you'll learn to love it once you get here.
