So for those people still wondering why they got rejected or haven't heard anything from mcmaster yet, they apparently did another cut based on grades, so they cut people below 94%
However, this cut doesn't automatically cut you like the first admission cut-off rate did, I think it just put you on the waitlist/lowered your chance of getting accepted.

And people who have gotten rejected, did you get an email/letter from them saying you were, or did you just assume so because you didn't get a letter of acceptance yet?

I emailed admissions, and there is NO waiting list. 260 students have been accepted, and they're expecting more than 160 students to accept. What goes on after that, I don't know.
Everyone else (outside the 260) have received rejection letters/email/alternate offers
I got an email, 2 letters, and a package saying that I was accepted into their alternate offer (LifeSci)
but I'm not too worried

I'm going to reapply next year, but if I like Queen's too much, I might just stay at Queen's smile

that's weird...I haven't gotten my alternate offer yet O___O....wth?? Not even good enough for life sci eh?

anyway. thanks for letting us know, lovelaughterlife.

btw. question for my fellow hthsci rejects: has anything shown up on OUAC yet? does it say 'alternate offer' or is it still blank?

It showed up as Alternate Offer underneath my original Hthsci choice

and Bacon: don't worry too much, I'm sure you'll get into Lifesci... you've probably got WAY higher marks than I do... keep checking your mail and OUAC! I'm sure it will come soon! smile

I hope they didn't forget about me or something razz
so when did it show up on ouac? the alternate offer?

if you still don't get an offer, email admissions. I'll give you a direct email to a really nice person through private message.

I actually just got it yesterday!
it came rather sudden; I gave up all hopes of getting in (it's a 48 student program)
then, it showed up in my email and on the queen's ASQ
tell your friend to check their ASQ... it will show the admission status smile

When I spoke to Sonya at May @ Mac she said that the package would be sent out on the 27th or so when the deadline for accepting the offers on ouac is.

hello everyone...i jus randomly came across this forum and i really liked this...it makes me a feel a lil better..dun take it otherwise please...i applied to health sci as well as a first year applicant and i got rejected ...it actually crushed my dream.. 'coz all the way long, i was jus thinking about this and nothing else...so i was in a crunch when deciding which program to pick.. and i jus picked Mac's Life Sci...i sooo wanna get into Health sci, man...and it feels kinda really good to hear that sooo many people from this forum got in as a second year applicant... and i meet the cut off...and i dun know what did they not like about my supp app...like it would be better if they actually sent their remarks regarding the supp apps...that would be a lil more beneficial... so whosoever i am gonna see at Mac in September...heya to all...hoping to have a great year with you guys... ... and good luck to all...

My friend got accepted in Health Sci this year and according to him, it went pretty easy. He had an awesome supplimentary application, with an average of 97% (not because hes smart or anything, because his school is awesome, his teachers are very lenient in marking, they give 90s to most of the people) and he has a lot of volunteer hours n stuff, he bluffed partially about that thought and said things about researching at some big institutes and all. (not that they checked, he was lucky) ..but yea he said that a lot of importance is given to the supp application, then the marks play a role if you are to tie with another applicant! Looks like i'll follow his footsteps smilebounce

Well yes, of course it's easier to get into a program if you lie on your supplementary!
But of course, you're fudged if they check.

Pourquoi?

I'm wondering if its going to make a difference if i do some online course next year (for grade 12) due to some of the teachers i dont like teachin in my school. but anyway does anyone know if taking online courses will have an impact on the admission process for health sci? Has anyone heard of people with online courses who got accepted???

Hi everyone

I'm entering grade 12 and I want to go to Health Sciences program in McMaster.

For all those people who were rejected, what average did you give? cause' I just want to know how much your supplementary applications count. If someone has a 98% percent average and still got rejected, that would show the importance of the application.

also, if you did get accepted, what was your average and how well did you think you completed the application before sending it in?

If you don't want to answer, it's okay.

Thanks you
