I don't think that they limit the offers to one person per school. Based on the limited number of spots, it may seem that way- but that wouldn't make any sense to deny a well-qualified applicant just because someone else from their school got in. Can anyone else verify?

For those of you who have been accepted, did your offer show up yet on OUAC? I'm probably not going to Health Sci, and would therefore like to make sure someone else gets my space, but my offer isn't up yet! I got in yesterday, so I would have thought it would have showed up today.

Khayes - another guy from my school also got accepted (there may even be others... I dunno... a lot of people applied to the program from my school). So I am pretty sure that is not true.

My offer didn't show up on OUAC either.

even though it's not for certain that i will get an offer, i really appreciate those of you who will reject your offers as soon as they show up if you don't plan on going there smile

I'm still waiting on Health Sci for a reply but I was wondering if the people who already got accepted, did you guys put McMaster Health Sci as your first choice or not?

I remember I emailed them a couple of days ago and they said the admission decisions would be out by May 10, so hang in there! I'm sure admission decisions means either an acceptance or a rejection. Also, the thing about one person per school, not true. So far three people at my school, including myself, have been accepted, so it's based on your merits, I think. Also, a note to some people who keep talking about how now that they've gotten in, they'll probably reject it... how they expected to get in... how they were half hoping to be rejected... please shut up! We could all easily be in the position of someone who is waiting for the second wave of acceptances or a rejection letter, and it's not an easy position. Bragging about it just because you got an offer of admission is not good for anyone's self esteem or their stress level, ok?

Nope, third of five. I think it doesn't make a difference in the end.

hola! been creeping for a while, but thought that i would finally ask question. ThiS MAY have been answered-- sorry I didn't check through the last 35 pages-- but the acceptances that went out, was that all (200ish) of them, and then the only way that anyone else would get accepted is if those first people reject, or is just part of the original 200 that were sent out, cuz Mac told me they were going out the 10th?

'cuz i'm still waiting, and it looks like i'm headin to western...

If you are interested in Medicine, I have heard it is very difficult to go from Queen's Life science to medical school because they mark very hard. That being said, Queen's has an amazing campus atmosphere and student life. That is definately what made me want to go to Queen's. But Western has a similar reputation. In the words of so many people on so many threads, go somewhere that you will enjoy, both in terms of the program and the atmosphere.

hmm , i never checked out queens, but Western is close, and their science program is supposed to be really good. Plus, I always ever heard good things about the social part of western, so it's my second choice.

If i don't get accepted into Mac. Health science, i have no idea where to go. Which one do you think is the best? U of T eng.science, West.Biomed, Mac.Lifescience, Mcgill science?

Why doesn't McMaster adopt a ranking list method? By pre-ranking everyone according to their supplementary scores and averages, it would be similar to a waiting list and applicants would have a better idea of where they stand. Of course the cons of this are.. if applicants are tied, then it would throw the numbers off. And you know people would look deeply into the numbers "Omg.. so-and-so is ranked one higher than me but I have a higher top 6 average.."

A lot of my bro's friends who went to western said that western said that it is NOT AS competitive as U of T. Also , first 2 years are just general science for everyone and that you get to decide which field you want to go into like biology, or med sci, or physiology etc. so that kinda leaves some doors open until you decide what you are doing with your life
