I don't htink it's that big of a deal if you go without a date.
It's worse if you do sometimes too, cuz i've had bad experiences with what i thought were let's-go-as-friends-so-we-don't-seem-like-losers dates that turned out to be real dates that i didn't really agree to, and it's not something you want to deal with on prom night.

Is it true that you can only go to the prom if you know the difference between PROM and EPROM? clown

You do not necessairly have to go to Prom with someone, go with a bunch of friends instead?

My friends and I are going to Prom, without our dates, and we will go out with them at a later time, [ like a weekend of some sort] because the schedules conflict majorly.

Just go , and have an amazing time!

Hm, we don't call it 'prom' here, it's just Grad.
Basically there is a car parade, then a three-ish hour ceremony, then a family dance with tea and coffee.
After that all the grads are bussed up the mountain for a banquet, more dancing and entertainment like sumo, tea reading, a hypnotist, poker and a silent auction. (The money for the poker is fake, used for the donated silent auction items. The chips supplied by the mountain casino.)
I'm super psyched.

that last part sounds a lot better than the food/dance/drunk/getting trashed fest that most schools have.

and, did i read that wrong or did you say sumo (as in sumo wrestling)?? I'm pretty sure i'm reading it wrong

HAH I don't necessarily think no alcohol = no fun but i do think grad is about the atmosphere of getting wasted and living it up. grad=drunken

at my school we have a pledge that comes with our prom ticket that we won't drink before or during the prom and that we are responsible for our actions.
last year there were police checking up on people before they were allowed to enter the banquet hall.

If you're a guy, are you suppose to wear a tux or a suit? I personally have a nice suit that I wanna wear, but don't wanna be the only one wearing one....which do ppl usually wear?

I'm gonna trash you even though I do, cuz its fun.

I truly find that most of the time I have more fun overall sober than drunk (and you don't feel like crap after), also, sex is better sober (unless the girl is really a man).

Both, but traditionally, a tux. Also, the ladies like it when we dress up even though we (and I speak only on behalf of myself here) really dislike it. I think a suit or tux looks worse than kakis and a polo shirt but w/e, I'ma go with the flow.

I honestly don't really understand why thats funny.
Is it because prom is very unrealistic and therefore not
part of the real world?
