haha. if someone from another school asked me to prom as a friend, I wouldn't want to go.

Well if its a really goood friend, then maybe. but then its like "wtf. im not paying 80 bucks to accompany you". haha sorry im cheap.

Any graduation you go to will be the experience of a life.
Can you really not pitch out 80 bucks to have an amazing time?

Unless of course you're kind of anti social and meeting a whole
bunch of new people is frightening as opposed to exciting.

Yeah you really shouldn't have this starry-eyed view of graduation. It's not the experience of a life time.

tut tut negative negative.
Grad is what you make it.
My only expectation is that i'll be drunk
and with my class. It is always fun when
my class all parties together. Just this weekend
we hosted a kegger and it was epicness goodtimes.

Yeah I went to prom.
Second most ridiculous night of my life, after homecoming weekend 2007.

BTW I went w/ friends, limo, dinner, dance, after-party, after-after party, camping.

I'm a big fan of prom. My grad year will be my third prom, which is great really. Get those couple extra uses out of an expensive dress.

Why does every girl feel that they MUST have a date to prom? It really isn't all that important, just go and hang out with some friends! You'll have more fun and lose all the drama.

I did go to prom with a date but just a good friend. The most important part of prom was to have a good time and my group of friends decided that we would all go with dates but simple for a dance partner!! We didnt want any drama at our prom! I didn't get to go to any prom party though , because I was committed to horse showing and needed to be at a show 6 hours away by 6 am the next morning to get ready to ride! lol

They could I guess.
but surely everyone can get a date?
I mean even if it's just a friend from out of school.

Dates don't really matter though. Only for limo and banquet.
After that everyone is pretty drunk and just whoring it up on the dance floor.

Lmao, if only my life could be that easy. My school is a reginal arts school, so the population is 2/3rds female. Take into account of gay boys and ones who are dating younger girls, the only girls capable of getting a date are the ones already in relationships, the dancers, and the popular non-dancers. They seem to be the only ones who are into the whole limo / cottage party / drinking thing, anyways.

As for me, I'll be the dateless geeky girl that no one will remember except my friends, and we will be dancing and making complete fools of ourselves while enjoying our last moments as burden-free teenagers. It'll be an amazing final goodbye to life as we know it, something that you will miss out on for the rest of your life. I encourage everyone in the same position as me to at least show up and stay the entire time. After all, you'll never see these people again, might as well make the best of it, let go of the miseries and end on a good note.

I'm indecisive about whether or not to go. On one hand it's a huge waste of money, and I'm unwilling to fork it out.
On the other all my friends are going and I hate feeling like an outcast

why not get a group of your friends together and go do something more meaningful than sitting at a table, eating, listening to speeches, etc. i should have done that but i'd already spent 250 on a dress+nonrefundable tickets frown

Most of my friends seem to have dates...I hope I'm not the only one without one. There's a couple girls I had in mind to ask but they have there seprate group of friends. So if I finally grow some balls to ask some1, I'll have the problem of choosing either date but not with friends or friends but no date (our bus is full).
