Did all of you guys go to prom...why or why not. Also if you went, did you have a date or did you go with a group of friends?

Yeah I went to Prom, it was a huge waste of money and time. It's too hyped up all year and if you're not interested in getting insanely drunk, it won't be much of anything. Mine consisted of a dance and dinner at a banquet hall then everyone left to go to a really sketchy motel in Niagara Falls to get really drunk. Random people would come off the street and join in, there were cops with handling gloves on circling the place, a couple people had to go to the hospital because of alcohol poisoning, a few girls got assaulted. Great night 1 We are from Mac! 2 A little bit louder! 3 I still can't hear you! 4 more more more... McMaster Class of 2011 Combined Honours Political Science and Philosophy

I'm extremely excited for mine! There'll be a dinner at the Hilton and then an after party at a resort and then an after, after party back at the hotel. I think it is what you make of it. Don't get too drunk, don't worry too much about dates and drama. And be safe!

I'm not going to my prom. I kinda want to go, but I've had a few people tell me that I'd better not, because they "don't want bleeps at their prom"

NO ONE has the right to dictate who you are attracted to, be it on the basis of sex, religion, race, or clique (though i'm not sure how often the last one happens). If the both of you want to go to prom (and i say this because some people, myself included, genuinely have no interest), then not going because of jackass homophobes is doing nothing but giving them a sense of power and legitimacy. I'm sure there are many more people who would have no problem and would enjoy your company than the vocal few who try to ruin it for everyone.

Yeah mine's this year and I'm going but I dont have a date. If a few of my friends don't either, then I guess we can go together. If not, I'll ask a girl as a friend....hope non having a date won't be too big of a factor/embarassment.

good luck with the accutane. I'm going to my prom, because...well, its PROM. haha I'm really not into this sort of thing but my friends will absolutely kill me. and all throughout highschool i've never been to one dance, nor did i attend semi-formal, so I can't miss prom of all things. no date. and I'm glad (i don't get it when ppl stress about prom dates...w/e. being with friends is more fun than being stuck with some random guy you brought just because u needed a date). I'm going with my friends, most of whom are dateless. it'll be like a girl's night!!! haha imo pre-drinking, and drinking excessively at after-parties is stupid. its the most important night of ur highschool life and u wanna get drunk???! fond memories. So no, none of that for me. I'll probably go to my friends house, as an 'after-party' and play video games and have a sleep-over haha. UTSG Life Sci 2012

I think i'm going to two grads this year. My own and this girls who I ...hah... met under interesting circumstances. My school runs an "after grad" so we all get on a bus after grad and they drive us somewhere to party and get drunk.. and knowing my i'll certainly be bleep house wasted.
My friends and I decided we should do a shot gun together after our morning ceremony then we're going to my friends house for champagne and lunch and pictures and then crazy drunken limo... haha i'm excited. I still haven't bought a suit though. I really need to get on that in case it needs to be sent away to be altered or something.
And for this girls... i'm getting wasted.

or do they? o.O sorry. I go to all-girls school and i've always kinda wondered. My prom was different I guess. A few people had "dates" but pretty much everybody I knew just went with a bunch of friends and met up with everybody there. Other than people with boyfriends/girlfriends, everybody just danced with whoever.

or do they? o.O sorry. I go to all-girls school and i've always kinda wondered. They could I guess. but surely everyone can get a date? I mean even if it's just a friend from out of school. Dates don't really matter though. Only for limo and banquet. After that everyone is pretty drunk and just whoring it up on the dance floor.

Can you really not pitch out 80 bucks to have an amazing time? Unless of course you're kind of anti social and meeting a whole bunch of new people is frightening as opposed to exciting.
