i think that relative to the topic of post secondary, it would probably be that students don't get as much career planning information as they need. Information about different institutions, different university faculties and what they have to offer should be more emphasized in the typical high school schedule.

I think that a problem that is very prominent in high school is the rewarding of mostly academic success. Sometimes students just aren't mature enough to perform their best until later in their life. Many teachers take this opportunity to lower their self esteem.

I dont know about everyone else, but in my area, or at least, at my highschool, there are NO post-secondary planning workshops, or anything of the sort to help us get ready for university or college! I've heard from previous graduates at other schools that they'd had many such workshops to help them out, and I for one, believe that lack of proper staff/funding is the issue.

What do you need a workshop for? You show up in September and start going to class. It's not rocket science.

I think that the biggest problem in high schools is the lack of being able to stand out in a big number school. Many of your teachers don't even know who u are frown.

I always felt that high school didn't prepare you enough for college/uni. As much as the teachers say they were preparing you, I don't feel that it is so!

What if the student is signed up for rocket science though?
