Personally, I believe them more than I do some children's television show.

1. International Agency for Research on Cancer uses fear to obtain funding through donations. Obviously they will tell you anything you do in your daily life will give you cancer.

2. Mythbusters is NOT a children's television show. Barney, however, is.

not contradicting at allllll....btw, is it jus me, or r most female rugby players blond???

I don't think it was contradictory. I don't go out of my way to tan, but I spend a very good chunk of my summer outside so I do get a tan. I am very good with sunscreen however.

And you guys are dumb if you think tanning beds can't cause cancer. Besides why would I waste time lying in a tanning bed

I understand the idea of questioning information and not believing anything you hear, but you need to look at the sources also. Even if you think that IARC physicians and scientists are just using scare tactics to get funding, this study was published by a very major peer-reviewed medical journal; The Lancet is a major publication that physicians and scientists work really effing hard to get into, and have their research ripped to shreds on the way in. This isn't the national enquirer, this is one of the world's most prestigious medical journals.

Not only that, if you still want to disbelieve the WHO and its minions, The Lancet is known for having even publicly criticised WHO claims in the past. So if there's anyone who you should be more likely to believe given your suspicions, these are the people who are most likely on your side because of the kind of scrutiny they give before publishing. Face it, ederoo - the only people advocating suntanning beds are those who sell them and use them.

I'll concede on that one.

1. Karla: You don't need to lie in a tanning bed for long to get a tan. It's quite short.

2. Poppy: It's a proven fact that only the sun can cause skin cancer. Tanning beds don't have the cancer-causing special thing the sun releases. I would say using a tanning bed is safer than a condom.

Prolonged exposure to UV radiation causes melanocytes (skin pigment cells) to mutate and eventually can lead to cancer. Both tanning beds and the sun release them.

Meh.

Clearly at this point, ederoo is yanking your chain, and if someone takes this further, I am questioning your ability to attend university.

What's the over/under line on when this thread changes topics again?

I meant again as in "next time" not as in "I forgot what it is".

I meant "What's the over/under line on when this thread changes topics again?" as What is the over/under line on when this thread changes topic to another random topic. Not what is the line because I forgot what it was.

You interpreted "What's" as "what was" referring to a point earlier in time in the topic where it occurred, to which you responded "never was one" which is correct. Good job, you get a star. However he just meant what is currently, to which I tried to be humorous and do so with my previous post.
Conclusion, Dark, are you a slow walker?

Who cares? It's changed quite a bit compared to the amount of time it was put on here.

Yeah just realized ederoo was trolling a bit. Well I had a suspicion but wasn't sure until he said he was vaccinated against UV radiation
