I'm wondering how many people have successfully won scholarships they found on studentawards.com? There are so many opportunities out there that we might never hear about if it weren't for this web site. But who has won?

I would love to hear too. It seems like such a sweet deal - but what is really going on here? Are students actually coming out on top?

Well I wrote a 1000 word essay to get a scholarship but my chances of getting it are fairly... unexistant! I'm still applying for as many as I can find, as I... as WE all need that money!

I actually won $1200 through a scholarship that Student Awards helped me find during my 2nd year of college. It helped alot. I apply to as many as I can just because then at least I have some sort of chance of winning! smile

I haven't won any either. Was it just me or did everyone else run into problems trying to save things on Adobe files? I have to say that was the worst because you'd spend hours on these forms and if you screwed up and printed then shut the program you'd have to start from scratch, after you do that a few times you smarten up pretty quickly. I sure hope something comes through though!

I've been applying to ones from both studentawards.com and ones our school counselor provides us with, and I've yet to be a recipient of one, but who knows - they could just be taking a long time in picking a 'winner.'

when inquiring around me in my high school, i learned that when scholarships require community involvement they're talking about more than 100 hours... and there are many people with 300 or so
and that's the reason why i haven't applied to most scholarships

where are all the scholarships based on academic merit and financial need??

I can honestly say I have no idea. I've applied to quite a few. I know I didn't get a couple, but other than that, I can't be sure.
