lol.

Acccepted
University of Ottawa in Biomed, Health Sci, and HBSc in Psych

Waiting on nothing, except my crucial decision lol

If anyone has any opinions on what i should do as for the decision, cause my ultimate goal is to either be a Maxillo-Facial Surgeon (Doctor of Dental Surgery Specialty) or a Surgeon (M.D). I have heard that the biomed program is alot of intense sciences, and therefore could be much more damaging on my grades, and the health science is alot of social sciences (which isn't bad). The psych program could be a safe choice, cause it is a good mix of easy psych classes and intense sciences. what do you think?

I got accepted into all the programs I applied for, which are:

Waterloo - Planning
Waterloo - Geography
Western - Social Science (Geography)
Queen's - Geography
Guelph - Tourism Management
UT - Geography

Right now I'm only considering Waterloo and Western. I love both Waterloo programs so if I go there I still have to decide which one to do. What I don't like about Waterloo though is the campus. I think it's pretty unattractive. Western is really nice and I love the student life and services there. The program is pretty good too but not as good as Waterloo's. So I'm torn in where to go...ahh it's so hard!

Been accepted to: Laurier BBA
McMaster - BBA
Carleton - Commerce
Brock - BBA
Windsor - Commerce

Still waiting on: Ryerson lol

I've already decided that its going to be between Laurier and McMaster, I went to the Laurier open house today and i liked what i saw smile But i'm still going to consider mcmaster.

So apparently for the kids going to the Laurier for anything that requires calculus we have to take a "placement exam" over the summer on the internet that looks at our math skills so they can place us in the proper calc course! I just heard about this today! AHHH and here i thought i could escape calculus!

I heard that Laurier math is pretty intense. A lot of people who are good at high school math struggle at Laurier. Good luck!

You don't have to take the calculus test I don't think. Maybe you do if you're trying to take the higher-up calc courses which I doubt you are.

The calculus course really isn't that bad. The first half of it is just a review of high school calculus. Actually, did they already change the calculus high school course? I heard they took a few units out.

I've only been accepted to Queen's for engineering with a scholarship. I hope to hear from Waterloo, and hopefully with an even bigger scholarship big grin

When I went to the Laurier Open house, there was a sheet that said "Calculus Preparation & PLacement Evaluation 2008" "The Calculus Preparation course is compulsory for all students who intend to take a first year calculus course in either fall 2008 or Winter 2009"

Yeah! they did change the calculus course...they've split it into Advanced Functions and then Calculus and Vectors now. Advanced Functions is a prerequisite for the Calculus and Vectors course. When i talked to the people at the open house they said that the placement exam is only in place because of this change in the high school senior math courses - since Laurier used to require Calc as a prerequisite for the program....when i asked him if the students who didn't take the high school calculus course be disadvantaged throughout the program than the ones who did...he said he didn't know worry ...scary huh? That's why I want to take calculus during summer school if i can!!

Just to let you know... Waterloo does not give out a lot of scholarships.... I'm pretty sure the scholarship Queen's give are way bigger.
