It should be 100 posts not 5. What can you contribute to the forum in 5 posts?

Not much...

Then again... some people can write 100 posts about nothing, while another person might only post once but have lots to contribute.

It seems to me that the number of posts doesn't really show how much you're contributing. I think it would be more effective to make a minimum length of post or something.

I don't know... just a thought.

its alot of luck for this one. theres a scholarship that i apllyed for and actully won! i never thought i would win it but i did. so this type of scholarship is fun and easy. no essay required is the best kind!!!

I'm with you there. Haven't won any scholarships though... at least not yet. Still hoping. They seem to be rather elusive. It's actually really annoying, because it seems that I've been working super hard to get good grades, join student leadership, volunteer, but so far no luck. In fact, lots of scholarship applications don't even seem to care about your grades. I keep hoping I'll find one that's like "show me your grades and I'll give you money". Essays take so long... I love the ones that are quizzes and stuff like this... even if it has nothing to do with any achievement on my part. angel

I was told that there's 100's of 1000's of unclaimed scholarship money in Canada every year because people don't bother entering them. Plus my brother, who isn't the best writer, managed to win one. So people should still try entering harder contests!

I've heard that too... I wish I could find it though... I'd be happy to take that off their hands! cheers

If you know of any good, lesser known ones, please do tell.

Does anyone know of any scholarships that reward u for being a 90's student. I haven't I mean, at my shcool unless u get like 97 or 98% ur not even considered. This makes me angry because I have over 120 hours of community service and was hand picked for multiple events at my scool and i get good marks. Why can't the give me a scholarship for that?

Yeah, I actually wonder what the chances are in winning a scholarship. Everyone always says it's so hard because every other student in Canada is applying for that same one, and you can bet there is several people that have better credibility than you.

And there are some scholarships that are brutal and take so much time and effort!

Hmmm... I would definitely say that this sort of a scholarship is a little TOO much based on luck maybe... I mean, sure its nice to get money for basically nothing, but shouldnt it be going to someone who deserves it? Like those who say they have 90's! That's quite the accomplishment. High marks and school involvement should count as more than they do. At my highschool there were lots of scholarships for the size of my gaduating class, so it's not AS hard as at other places, everyone has a pretty good chance as long as they take the time to apply. Anyone who has the initiative to go to postsecondary should be able to get financial support, it only seems like the right thing. I mean, if the government wants our country to develop and strengthen, especially among our own residents, then it should do all it can to increase the education of the willing.

Either a vast amount of luck, or some experienced persuasion skills and good essay writing. I'd rather be in a draw or do something like this than write an essay...

I kinda like these scholarships that aren't really about skills or anything. It's good to have a lottery-type thing.cat

2000? HOLY MOLY. It's all in the fact that you're willing to try and get the scholarship. It's a good thing because if you put the effort in maybe you'll get it.
