Well there are a ton of essay contests like the Fraser Institute one and the Fountainhead, etc. My studentawards inbox is pretty much all writing contests, most of which I'll never enter, simply because essay writing is too much for me. I know there was the Telus future is friendly one, but the deadline may have passed, I believe. Seriously, ever scholarship has a writing component to it though, so it should be pretty easy to find one. Hope that helps!
