If you don't get accepted, do universities still send you the letter saying "We could not accept you for whatever reason"?

If you don't get accepted they do tell you this eventually. I don't know if they give the actual reasons or not.

May 25th is the day all universities that you've applied to must respond back to you by law. So you'll know your status at each university by that day. As far as stating reasons why they didn't accept you they may have some generic denial letter that reads: "Dear <name>, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accept you for study into <program> at <school> for the 2008 fall semester" and probably go on to say that you did not make the final cutoff.
