In the GTA, I've only heard of George Brown's culinary program. There is also the Stratford Chef School in Stratford, Ontario that I've seen on the Food Network sometimes.

i have known people who took the culinary program at George Brown College and loved it! the campus itself is also really good. and conveniently located in the downtown core [i attended there for a year, so i highly recommend the school].

i also know that at Fanshawe College they have a culinary program. but they are not that great of a school from administrative point of view. i had heck trying to get in there for advanced standing. they are very unorganized. i have heard horror stories of people not getting their schedules until a month into the program. while at GBC you choose your classes a month BEFORE the semester starts.chef

I would love to learn more about food, and cooking, but I never seem to have time with my regular university courses. I figure I will learn later I guess. Suggestions?

The Art Institute is where I'm going. Theres one in Vancouevr and i believe one in Toronto.
Its a private school, so it's pretty pricey.
But the Profs have incredable backgrounds, from all over the world.
There are small classes, like I'm talking 10-15 students, so you get the attention you need.
and they set you up for when you grad with incredable jobs.

Algonquin in Ottawa has a good program as well. I haven't taken it yet (although I may take it in the future), but I have a friend who has completed it, and he loved it. I have another friend who is attending it currently, and she loves it as well.
