I can see a time and place for it (MSN, texting, etc.) but it just seems like the language in general seems to be degenerating amongst our generation....

It's so true!!! our Generation is so illiterate compared to our previous generations... Haha I was reading the original Pinocchio book (originally published in 1883) and it's just great! I mean it's a children's book... " (he) heard two horrid sepulchral voices" "it was such a pandemonium, such a bedlam, such an uproar" "a billow rolled up with such fury and impetuosity that he was lifted up and thrown violently far onto the sands"... but those are just a few examples! that kid's book is just loaded with (i wish I were more literate) language! =p I mean in our generation, they heard "bad, creepy" voices, it was such a "gong show" and the "wind blew like crazy"! =p
on a side note, check out these hilarious quotes from the book...
"and becoming more and more angry, (Gepetto and Master Antonio) came to blows, and flying at each other they bit, and fought, and scratched manfully." thumright
"Perhaps (Pinnochio) never meant to hit him; but unfortunately (the mallet) struck him exactly on the head, so that the poor Talking Cricket had scarcely breath to cry Cri-cri-cri, and then he remained dried up and flattened against the wall." =s
Haha oh I love it ^^

>.< that's just me though

and oh i can't stand it when ppl type in such abbreviated 'kewlness' (ugh) that it takes me a 2nd reading to actually understand what is written: dnt lv out so mny vwls tht i cnt evn mke out wat ur wrtng....or if you say that using insane acronyms. DLOSMVTICEMOWYW!
lol my rant of the day.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

I believe it was meant to be sarcastic.
