For first year uni I applied for:
Millenium - didn't get Merit - didn't get U of A scholastic distinction - got $7500 ($2500 for years 2, 3, 4) U of A academic excellence - got $8000 total (3 different awards) U of A leadership - got $7500 Seymour Schulich Academic Excellence Scholarship for the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Calgary - got offered $50,000 over 3 years, turned it down to go to U of A Rutherford - automatic for 80% average in grades 10-12, got $2500 International Baccalaureate Diploma Scholarship - automatically got $1000 for having top IB diploma marks Jimmy Condon - for Alberta varsity athletes, automatic, $900 (shared $1800 with a teammate) Western Retail Lumber Association Inc. Scholarship Award - got $2000 and a wicked free trip to Sask, offered through my dad's company
I think that's about it.
For second year uni I've applied for all my school's ones, a few more province of AB ones, an Electrofed scholarship, a GE scholarship, a John Gyles Education Award, a Weyerhauser scholarship and am working on a few more. Only heard back on Electrofed, got $1000.
Basically yeah, apply for everything you can.

My average is at 90%, I have just over 60 hours of community service. I am the leader of our school's anime club and I help out a lot aroud the school. I don't qualify for anything that is for people with financial needs.
ie, I haven't found a single scholarship that I qualify for.

Apply for as many as you can! Within reason. Apply for ones that you qualify for, even small ones (especially small ones, actually, since people tend to overlook them). I applied for: Millennium and Millennium (local and provincial respectively). I was a lazy, lazy butt. Other scholarships were automatic.

I applied for just about everything. I applied for most of the big scholarships like Loran, Millennium and Wendy's. I also filled out the form for scholarships through each university I applied to. I applied for some smaller provincial and local bursaries/scholarships like Harrison McCain. I also entered a bunch of essay contests, EL Publishers and A&E come to mind.
In the end, I won several small scholarships through the universities themselves including the President's at one school, which ended up superceding the smaller ones. I also won a $28,000 scholarship from a local business that basically owns our city because I went to a certain middle school, and a small $500 bursary offered by Assumption Life.
I feel like I have applied for just about everything that I was eligible for and that I reasonably had time to apply for. Applying can never hurt and every little bit counts!

Wow, I never knew there were so many scholarships!! I'm applying for the TD, millennium, Wendy's and Telus one mainly because they're the only ones that I really know of. Are there any other ones that I should consider applying for? I live in Ontario and am planning to go to an Ontario University; Western, U of T, York, Guelph, or Waterloo.

^Apply for the scholarships at your prospective universities.
I applied for LORAN (Sponsored), and am working on Queen's right now. Going to start Millenium soon, and will probably do some more later on, including one for REMAX, etc.
