So, my mom was on a vacation and she came back this weekend to register me for my new home school. And here I am, waiting to be vice principal for three hours. When I finally speak to the woman, she says I need to speak to guidance and we've been waiting for no reason. So, I roll my eyes and waltz over to guidance. The secretary is going on lunch and won't be back for an hour. The VP heads out, comes back a few minutes later and hands my mother a form. She says it will probably take a week for me to get registered because they're "swamped" with people. I contend that I cannot wait a week to start my twelfth grade studies and I'll be behind, I HATE being behind. I've been behind the last two years and it kills the atmosphere.
So, I decide to leave and I carry my mom with me. We will go tommorow and set our appointment for "next week". I don't want "next week". I want "now". Has anyone else had this ridiculous problem?
How the hell can I be waiting a week WHEN the school in question is my HOME SCHOOL and I'm in GRADE 12?
Shouldn't those two factors count for anything? Should some freshmen have precedence simply because he was able to arrive earlier and it doesn't truly matter what marks he receives?
When the VP said something akin to: "the earliest time is next week", my face went sour and I began complaining. What should I do to quicken the process? I've tried phoning but these secretary idiots only answer half the flippin' time
( P.S: I think I posted this in the wrong forum. Uh oh.)

There are other people in front of the line. They have to wait, and so do you. How much more fair can it get?

Half of the other people don't have to worry about going to university this year. Extenuating circumstances should be taken into account. Not withstanding the fact that the secretary is just a lazy jerk and doesn't want to book a lot of people on the same day.

My mom was out of the country for a funeral and decided to stay for the majority of the summer. And I can't register myself. So, I was forced to do it last minute. Even so, throw me a lifeline here. Something needs to be done. What do you think I should do? (BTW, I'm thinking I should repost or ask a mod to move this thread to Stress Therapy)

OK ok, i thought she went for like a 1 week vacation... anyway, the secrety books the appointnment to see the guidance. So i suggest you go directly to the guidance, usually better if you go 20-30 after school ends (when there is not as much studnets in there, and usually when the competent counclers stay behind ). i honestly cant think of anything else, sorry.

Had the same problem last year. In homeschool, being a week behind isn't a big deal because you can work weekends etc.
When I went to re-register with my old highschool, s.o.s. happened to me. 'Wait here to see Mrs Blah.' An hour later 'You don't need Mrs. Blah, you need Mr. Blowblow.'
It's frustrating but it's not really as big a thing as you think it is.

A week isn't that bad, especially when you can work at an accelerated pace being homeschooled and all.
