I'm going to UBC science first year in september and I'm wondering you guys know any scholarships related to chemistry that I can apply for whether for ubc or canada. I looked at the major scholarships and it doesn't look like I have a chance because I barely have any leadership positions. The only experience I have is organizing a chemistry study group for the chemistry teachers and starting and running the chemistry club. Basically I did what I loved to do and volunteered in other things just enough to graduate with the IB diploma which is 200 volunteer hours over 2 years. I did many chemistry contests too and got top marks in many of them including one international one.
I searched and searched but can't find any categories or anything that fits me. Most of them require lots of volunteering and leadership and I say the majority want the same thing. Any suggestions or places where to look for subject ones? I talked to the UBC prof and he said that I have a great resume for chemistry but the school doesn't offer scholarships to students coming into first year based on specific subjects unless it was a chemistry olympiad medal which I do not have.
I love tutoring/teaching and chemistry and I hope to be a chemistry professor.

Yeah the UBC prof is right. They don't offer subject specific scholarships like that until at least 2nd year.
