On my OSAP application page there is a "What's Next?" list in the "Check Status" section. In that section it lists all the various bursaries and whatnot. Some of them give discriptions and some say a check will be mailed to me. Does everyone have the same message in those sections? What do they all mean to me? For example, in the Ontario Distance Grant section it states the following:
Ontario Distance Grant - Commuting

You have been assessed for an Ontario Distance Grant- Commuting. The commuting grant will be paid in two installments, in the fall and in the spring. If you attend summer classes full-time, you will receive the grant for the summer semester in the second instalment of your funding. If your program is two or more terms, you must still be a full-time student as defined by OSAP at the start of your second term to be eligible to receive this grant. The ministry will send the cheques to your financial aid office.

Ontario Distance Grant - Travel

You have been assessed for an Ontario Distance Grant- Travel, and will receive this funding in the form of a cheque during the first term/semester of study. The ministry will send the cheque to your financial aid office.

Does this mean I will get money from them possibly? In the section for that no numbers are listed. Or does everyone get the same messages?

Are you driving to and from class and living at home? Because to me it looks like OSAP is paying for some of your gas money. Thats what I interpret, anyways.

No, I'm living away from home, but it's fairly far (3 hours or so). That's partly why I'm confused.

Hey, as long as you're getting money, it's all good!! My T4 last year said that I was getting 1000 dollars back. I barely made 3500. I should have taken it, not said anything, but I decided to be honest frown oh well, i would have been found anyways.

good luck finding it!

It just says I was reviewed for it, so I don't know when I'll find out if I'm getting it or not, but I agree. If they want to give me money, I'll take it!
