hello,

currently i'm enrolled in the biochemistry program. I was thinking of double majoring next year with psych. For the first year, i was wondering whether i should really be taking courses related to psych such as the social sciences or philosophy.

Take what you need to take to get into the 2nd year Psych courses. Which is probably just intro psych, for some you might possibly need a stats class or something (but if needed it can probably wait until 2nd year). Also take a look at the degree requirements for a double major.

By all means take social science or philosophy classes if you're interested and have the elective room, but there's no need to take them because of the intention to do a 2nd major in Psych.

Remember that it often takes just as long to do a search or two on Google to try and find the answer to your question as it takes to type it in a post here, let alone the time waiting for a reply.
If your question is "What mark does it take to get into University X", or "What are the requirements to get into University X", it's on their website and/or electronicinfo.ca (for Ontario schools). Particularly for Ontario schools, those ranges are a pretty good picture of what kind of mark will get you into the program, and if you're more than a couple percent higher it's practically guaranteed unless it requires a supplementary form.

Generally you will only have the option of taking either a full year intro psych course, or two half year psych classes-most universities don't offer a large selection of first year psych classes. You will need to take these intro psych classes though to take upper year (2nd year and beyond) psych courses, and many upper year psych courses do require a stats course, but like Kaylya said, don't worry about that in first year.

So ultimately you will probably end up with one or two psych classes, and if you have any electives beyond that take whatever interests you!
