Iam a little confused... I checked my student account and it is saying that all my lectures are 1 hour in lenght... yet when i look at my printed schedule it shows each time slot for lectures to be half a hour??? I guessings it 1 hour ... but i dont know why my schedules are telling me two different things...?

Assume it's an hour or longer. Who has a lecture that's half an hour long? Kinda pointless, if you ask me. Allot time in your own schedule for an hour plus, and I would chalk the printed schedule up to human error.

Classes are usually an hour, an hour and a half, or three hours. There is usually ten minutes taken off at the end of class to give time for people to walk to their next class.

There's probably a problem with your schedule then, as most lectures are at LEAST an hour. smile

Are you reading the time blocks correctly? Each block on the UWo schedules is a 0.5 hour. The number in the block refers to what time the block starts. So if a class spans two blocks (the first labelled 10:30 and the second labelled 11:00) that does NOT mean that the class runs from 10:30 to 11:00. It DOES mean that the class goes from 10:30 to 11:30 and is one hour in length. I hope that makes sense - it's hard without a picture!

I was going to ask the same thing but I wasn't sure how UWo does their scheduling. Mac's schedules can also be confusing as they are broken down into half hour slots, so more likely than not it's just some confusion reading the schedule, not an error smile

I'll try to explain how Macs works but it's tough without a visual aid, and I can't do a screenshot or mine or send you a link because it's password protected.

Basically with Macs it looks something like this (I'll do a few hours on one day to the best of my ability!)

8:30 History
--------------- -----------------------------------
9:00

9:30 Science
--------------- ------------------------------------
10:00

Now because of the formatting, the entire course history course fits into the "block" from 830-9:00. The 'block' from 830-900 is about three lines big. The following 'block' from 9:00-930 is only one line long, but if you look at the timetable you'll realize that the colouring (the History block is coloured in now to make it easier to read) does extend past the line that separates 830 and 900 so it encompasses the time 830-930. However, at first glance it appears that the block only takes up 830-900. It's really frustrating to explain, if you want PM me and I'll try and clarify more, or you can PM me and I'll give you my email address, and I will take a look at your timetable if you'd like.

The formatting doesn't work properly on here either...It looked much better before I posted it, but I don't know how to make it show up here the same way sorry!

Yes, this formatting thing is tricky, but the actual concept is not...smile So here is my second (more visual) attempt. I cannot make vertical bars with this, so try to imagine them...For example, French goes from 7:30 to 8:30 because each blcok is 0.5 hour, and it spans the blocks labelled 7:30 and 8:00, each of which lasts 0.5 hours.
Time : Monday

7:00 AM _______
7:30 AM French_
8:00 AM French_
8:30 AM Math___
9:00 AM Math___
9:30 AM _______
