Last year(first year of college), i applied for OSAP and received good money. About $8 000 student loan, $ 3500 QE 2 Scholarship, couple bursuries and all that which added up to $15000-16000. Financially, i was happy. This year i applied for OSAP and all i got is $5 000 something. And my tuition is like $4500 for the whole year. Wow. i guess i am pretty much screwed. The tuition part is covered. The rent, food, bills, bus passes and all that, i guess i'll have to pay them myself. I do have a job that can do that. But i was thinking of saving up and keeping those money to pay off the loans at the end. Either way, even if i work full time this summer, it's not going to be enough. I'll have to be working during my second year as well.

I am curious to what all you got or getting? Are you going to be well off or on the edge of surviving like me?

^ Same thing I was wondering.

My funding estimate was around $13,000 for the year.

Niiiiice, I have consistently (for the third year now) gotten $11 900. What on top of the bursary & loan did you get?

I got a $7000 Loan, $3504 Debt-Relief Money (free money), and a 1500 Grant! Still waiting on Millennium Bursary and QEII Scholarship. Coupled with my two bursaries from western and my admission scholarship, looks like I'm all set for this year smile

Work? Get a loan? Choose a program you could afford?

snakeyes,
Depending on your finances, you might qualify for additional government grants and loans. Check http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/learning/canada_student_loan/index.shtml
