taking summer school at stephen lewis for World Issues.. we all thought it was gonna be an easy 90 credit until our teacher came in a told us he expects us to work as hard as day school. he also said that most of us will get 70's and only once has his world issues class had 3 students crack above 90. he also stated that the highest EVER mark in any course he has given out was to a genuis who went to waterloo on a full scholarship.. giving him only a 92.
anyone have any tips who took world issues?

Ahhh, could have sworn I intoduced myself, but apparently not. Unless I'm blind. So I've been lurking for months, and finally decided it's time. I am definitely, 100% an artsy type... anything that's not math or science is probably of interest to me. I'm random and sarcastic... and that's about it, really. All else falls in these categories. Good luck with your summer school... I could never do that. I have a hard enough time working during the summer... I like to relax WAY too much. I get two spares anyway, so I'm good... and they are the best things. I had one last semester too.

Grade 12 here come September. Been lurking for a while, trying to decide on a university and such.
^ I wish I could get two spares. my school has this weird rule where we're only allowed 1 in grade 12.

Drop family studies, you will forget anything you learned in that class within a week. Religion or World History should also be dropped. Spares are very helpful. Then again since you aren't taking any sciences it may not matter too much.
Also, how are you taking calculus without taking advanced functions?

Going into grade 12 too. Taking the following:
English 30-1 Math 30/35 AP (full year) Chemistry 30 French 30 Social Studies 30 Spare (each semester)
Already completed: Legal Studies 30 (waste of my life and bombed it) Biology 30 - 93%
Edit: I plan on applying to Queen's Commerce (my top choice atm), and I want to apply for a major entrance award as well.

I can't believe it... we're all grade twelves soon.. weird!! Lol Anyone thinking of Dalhousie?? Or Guelph?? I'm taking these next year: English Advanced Functions Calculus and Vectors Biology Chemistry Physics French and... SPARE! woo!! I really wanted to take instrumental music, I've been taking it all through high school, it's soo much fun. But French, Chemistry or Music... one has to go. Conflicts! Aghh!! I can't drop French, because then I won't get an International Languages Certificate. Did anyone else have conflicts and had to drop a favourite course? I'm considering Guelph, Dal and UOIT. For biology, or chemistry-ish, so I'm thinking biochemistry.
Decisons, Decisons...

I will only be in Grade 11 next year. However, I am in IB so half my courses will be grade 12 courses. I'm excited and extremely nervous at the same time.

Also, how are you taking calculus without taking advanced functions? i think i'm going to drop family studies for sure i'm still thinking about world history... but i'll probably drop that too if i get a decent and high mark in world issues i need to take religion because i go to a catholic school.. for those of you who go to catholic schools, are you taking morality? or philosophy? (for gr 12 religion) and i took advanced functions in gr 11 semester 2 so i can take calc haha the exam didn't go too well tho:|

I'm in the International Baccalaureate program and I will be in grade 12 next year.
I reside in Manitoba, so I was thinking of getting some IB entrance scholarships at the Univeristy of Manitoba and study Pharmacy.
However, I'm currently looking into Univeristy of Waterloo for their Optometry program. I'm just hoping to apply for scholarships because boarding, etc. will be expensive and I really don't want Student Loan.
My courses next year:
Physics 42S IB Economics 42S IB Biology 40S English 42S IB French 40S IB Calculus IB
I'm hoping to be accepted into Law 40S
I've already completed Chemistry 40S IB

"Don't tire yourself out[/sarcasm]." haha no kidding! I'm thinking of doing something instead of my spare, but not sure what. Philosophy, maybe. Any suggestions, since you seem so wise and sagely?

Hey guys! I'm going to be in grade 12 come september as well. Nice to meet you all! I have to agree I've been lurking this forum for a while now haha. It's weird now we're actually beginning our final year of high school and we reaallly need to know what we want to do with our lives. :|. So I'm taking advanced functions in summer school so I'll have that over with before school begins. And I got my schedule a few weeks ago, I have: First Sem: English Law World Issues Data Management
Second Sem: Intenational Business History French Spare
I want to hopefully attend UWO's Ivey school of business. I'm so scared about not getting in because to be honest, it's my dream school! AHH!!!
