They said completion of 5 courses numbered 1000-1999 are needed
But can I take only 3.5 credit for this session? or should I must take 5 courses?
Thank you for your reply

Thank you for your reply If its five courses for the whole year, then it could mean 2.5 credits. but if it's '5.0 courses" then i think it means courses would give you 5.0 credits in the end. double check with the faculty tho.

What are you going into?
I know plenty of people who take 3 or 4 courses a semester, it's usually allowed unless your program forbids it. You won't be eligible for most scholarships if you don't take a full course load of 5 credits however. Check online or phone and ask.

5 courses over 2 terms isn't that hard, suck it up buttercup, life isn't getting much easier from this point on. All you're really going to do is make yourself take more courses in the upper years. But whatever, it's you're choice really, so jsut make sure that you double check this with your faculty. If you have an SAO coming up soon, that would be a goodtime to find out.

Very true. Try taking 6 courses a semester which is what I have done and will be doing for my entire undergrad.

Engineering. Apparantly we have to take a lot of courses. Although my sixth course in both semesters for year one was a stupid class on how to write resumes and learning about the different disciplines of engineering. It's not quite 6 courses every semester. Next year I have 6 one semester (but I think one is a similar stupid course on what mechanical engineering is) and 5 the next. Third year it is 6 both semester, but I have credit for English from IB so I'll only have 5 in one semester. Fourth year it is 6 a semester again but I also get credit for a complementary studies elective so 5 in one semester.

hmm interesting. I'm taking engineering too. Except I thought it was more you take way too many the first year then it got more normal as you progressed through the years.

Yeah that's what I thought too. Not true. At least at the U of A! But it's probably not going to be that bad. I thought "oh my god six courses" for my first year but a few were super easy so it's no big deal. If you take engineering physics you take 7 courses per term in years 2 and 4, 6 courses in year 3, and underneath, which I thought was funny it says "Students may take an extra course per term if their GPA is at least 3.3"
