I'm taking this course at another school board, and it's up to me to report the mark if I want it shown on my transcript. If I don't want it shown, then I could simply not report the mark. It's a grade 10 foreign language course. I'm getting a mid-70s on it, and my average is currently in th 90s. I'm going to be applying to American Universities, and I heard that they look at the culmulative average, i.e, all high school marks. I'm worried that although the a foreign language course does look good, the mark is quite low, an it would definitely pull down my average. By the way, I am taking French until grade 12, so I would meet the foreign language requirement. I have more than enough credits to graduate, so not reporting it won't affect whether I graduate or not. Would you report it or not? I need advice here.

I personally would recommend submitting it. if you don't, you risk getting blackballed from the university and any others that it is affiliated with if they find out.

yeah... but there's practically no way they could find out. It won't be on the transcript, and it's not even on my day school database. I just want to know if having a 3rd language credit, yet having a low mark, is better than having 2 languages without a low mark. My English mark is pretty low, so I might give the impression that I'm terrible at languages. I do want to go into engineering or the sciences in university.

I see no harm in reporting it, especially if you're going into engineering or sciences.

People told me that some of the universities asks for the culmulative but don't ask me to break it down by grades. It's going to drop the cumulative average, and you know how competitive those schools are. A .1% could make a huge difference.

I'm not sure, maybe do some research to double check that that is indeed true.
