Okay, so since I applied late, EE was full so they offered me trackone. I looked at the courses and they are identical to that of ECE first year with the exception of the course "intro to ECE engineering" instead id take "intro to engineering". my question is this: is there really any difference between trackone and EE if i choose EE as my major after first year? is there any disadvantage?

No, my averages were above 60 both semesters. The only way I can fail, is if I fail MIE100 and ECE110...three times each :| I don't know if I can pass them on first try though.

Yeah those courses suck, my friend here in ECE has a Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering(FEE) course, creepy sidenote the profs name is James mcFEE, my theory is that its the only reason they hired him...well anyways he rapes the entire class with a 40-50% fail rates, alot of people take it 2-3 times before passing. Electrical is fun no matter where you go right?

Yeah, track one courses are exactly the same. They are lowering the amount of students they accept into "specialized" programs (electrical, chemical, civil...etc) and increasing the amount they accept into track one. Don't know what the exact conditions are, but pretty much, as long as you don't fail stuff or have a really low average, you can transfer into any program you want after first year.
