Huh? If you need a blowdryer, bring one. Where do you store it? In a drawer? On a table? Wherever there is room.

If you're concerned about Queens, you should really just head over to the already established Queens Rez thread... everything you've asked has already been discussed.

Blowdryer: I think you'd probably leave it in your room and take it to the bathroom if you need to since they'd have plugs and mirrors and stuff.

Just to add to this since it's sort of bathroom related... what do you do with all your other bathroom stuff if you are one of those communal ones for rez? shampoo, conditioner, soap/bodywash, toothbrushes/paste/floss, etc?

Do you leave it in the bathroom? Take it back and forth from your room?

I was kind of wondering the same question. I have quite a lot of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, face oil, moisturizer, etc.) and many of them are in those "bulk" sizes that you buy at Costco. Honestly, they weigh 5 pounds. It would be a hassle to carry them back and forth each time I have to take a shower.frown

ummmm, use smaller bottles, or use smaller bottles and refill when needed, thats what i tend to do with bulk stuff like soaps and detergents

Hairdryer: I just used it in my room and kept it there somewhere.

Toiletries: Carry them back and forth. You can get baskets designed for this, although sometimes they can be a bit hard to find.

Kettles: I had one, I think we were "supposed" to only use them in the kitchen area.. some schools may be stricter.

I shared 3 showers with a floor of 20 guys. The only time there was ever a lineup was if a bunch of people on the floor were going out at night and everybody was getting ready. Even then, people keep the showers quick.

Yeah, in 2 years in rez - I can probably count on one hand the number of times I had to wait at all for a shower, and even then it's wait for one person to finish as opposed to a line up. The main exception being times when a bunch of people in your rez / on your floor do something that involves getting dirty at the same time, like getting something gross dumped on them during frosh week or a bunch of people playing intramural soccer in the rain.

You've got, say, 20 people and 4 showers. Of those 20, some are going to start at 8:30, some at 9:30, some at 10:30, some at noon, etc. and of those with class at a particular time it's not like they're all on the same morning schedule, or that they all take a shower before going to class. It really seems more likely that you'd run into bathroom conflicts in a suite or other one bathroom for 2-4 people type arrangement than the 4 bathrooms for 20 people arrangement.
