Hey guys,

I submitted my application before the deadline and filled out all the supplementary forms and etc.

However, I hear that some universities care about your preferences on your application. Is it too late to change them? Will changing your preferences resubmit your application as a whole so that universities will get ANOTHER application form from you? Or will it just change the rankings on your OUAC application?

Thanks.

It's kind of late to be changing your preferences, lol.

You mean you want to change, let's say,

#1 Schulich
#2 U of T
#3 Queen's

to

#1 Queen's
#2 U of T
#3 Schulich

?

Don't do it. The universities do use that information to gauge how likely you are to actually attend if they send you an offer, but it should make minimal to no difference in your chances of being accepted. It is not worth the risk of something getting screwed up on OUAC, and even if it would have made a tiny difference had you had it that way since the beginning, it really won't make a difference now. If you haven't been accepted yet, judging by the fact that you list Schulich in your sig and have probably applied to the sorts of programs I used in my example, it's because highly competitive programs that are spending time reviewing supplementaries etc. send out the majority of offers really late.

Now, if you've decided at the last minute that you want to change one of your choices and apply to some not overly competitive program, or add a new choice, it's possible you'd get accepted.

Lol guys, look at the date of the original post. He actually asked this question back on March 8th. I doubt he's still thinking about doing this.colors

Wow, thanks for bumping my old thread.

And yes, I did change preferences and it was fine.

Crap, usually I catch these things. (there's a safesex emoticon but no blushing emoticon???)

To Whoa, there was *really* no point in bumping this thread to give a 1 word answer.

The answer I would have given on March 8th is not the same as the answer I gave on May 14th ;P
