So I know that there have been discussions regarding this topic in the past, but I am curious as to what everyone would recommend, as in the past I posted this in a school specfic discussion.
Do you enjoy having breaks in between classes, or do you find it better to finish all your classes for the day, one after the other?
For example, I have the option of taking all three lectures back to back, or I am able to split them up. If I chose not to split them up, I would have lectures from 11:30 - 3:50 with two 10 minute breaks in between the classes. This would leave me in 4 hours of lecture straight, which might be hard to handle, but at the same time, gets things done faster.
The other option would be to have the first lecture at 11:30 - 12:50 with 1 hour and a half break, then the second lecture from 2:30 - 3:50, then another hour and a half break, and the third lecture from 5:30 - 6:50.
Personal experiences and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I found it easier to do thing back-to-back, and when possible have a short break. A break of an hour and a half (especially two in one day!) is generally wasted, or at least it was on me! You'll be much happier to be done at 4 than to wait. Plus, I found I was less likely to skip when I didn't have a long break between classes. But only you know what your attendance/work habits are likely to be, so it's your call!

4.5 hours of class effectively straight is doable, particularly given the timing, but you probably wouldn't want to do any more. I would prefer that to a 1.5 hour break between each and every class.

I was also thinking that an hour and a half breaks in between would be too long. But that's the only other way I can fit them in with a decent break in between. My two ten minute breaks will be spent walking to the next class lol.
Which I don't mind, I just don't want to grow to hate the classes I'm in. But at the same time, I really don't want to be sitting around for an hour and a half. I could be doing homework during those times, but still...

From what I've heard, it'll be easier to get the classes done back-to-back. The breaks are (apparently) wasted as waiting time.

Personally, I would want to have a bit of a break between classes. I would prefer 30 to 45 minutes, so I have enough time to print off my assignment, photocopy, eat, use the bathroom, or do the little things you need to do between classes. Last year in college I had a day where I had 3 classes in a row with only 5 minutes between classes. It was hell. I do however want all my classes to be condensed into 3 days so I can work part-time or volunteer. I would hate having classes so spread out so you don't have a free day to work/volunteer/sleep/study/other.

I find either back-to-back or with a sizeable gap (2 or more hours) is the best for me. If I only have an hour or an hour and a half of break some (very lazy) part of my brain decides I can't get anything done before I'd have to start gathering up my stuff and heading for my next class (even if they're in the same building). All the same, I don't mind a half hour break so I have time to get something to eat and to clear my brain before my next lecture.

I prefer back-to-back with 10 minute breaks between classes. I found with longer breaks in the day, I wasted time on Facebook instead of being productive. This way, I finish early, can do my volunteering/studying/activities, and still have time to hang out with friends. I didn't find four hours of classes without a break too difficult--it's basically the same time schedule as high school, really. That said, back-to-back classes over lunchtime really annoyed me because I'd get hungry

well in your case, i would almost not recommend it. the time spans over lunch, and trust me, youll get hella hungry. take the breaks instead, and learn to use your library, or closest study space, rather than going all the way back to residence. Also if u have labs, try to keep free time around them...i find a short break just before, lets you clear your mind, and mainly make sure you're ready for it (done the prelab, have all your stuff), and afterwards, it just gives u time to relax...labs can be gruelling sometimes.

My overall plan is to have many classes (nearly back to back) on one day, classes sparse and spaced out on a couple days, 1-2 classes on a couple days, and 1-2 days off sound good?
