how do you pick courses and stuff for university? like how do you know which courses are requirements or which courses you're allowed to take? i'm only going in first year in sept so i'm guessing there should be a lot of electives allowed but i'm not sure. and okay, i was looking through the ut calender and there are "program requirements" and there's a list that says "10.5 full credits in psychology, as follows", is that list for all four years and is needed for graduating or is it all for first year? so confused!

utsc next year!

If you are referring to the program requirements in the calendar, that list is the requirements that must be completed within your 4 or 5, 6 etc years of university. In your first year, most of your courses will be either A-level (UTSC) or 100-level (UTM/UTSG) depending on what campus you are planning to go to because these courses are introductory courses. Since you are using the example of psych, I am assuming you are either majoring or specializing it in therefore, you will be required to take the both the introductory courses (A01 and A02 <code used at UTSC>). Once you have selected all your required courses for the year, the rest of your courses will be electives (basically anything other courses that you think are interesting) Good luck with your course selection.
