Hey guys,

I already got a productive answer from some of the nice members.

Sorry if I'm ignoring the rest because I sense that its not worth my time responding to jerks who waste their non-social life in the stress therapy thread in a scholarship forum WHO choose not to come up with a productive and rational-like answer.

Isn't there anywhere you guys can be more of use than a forum of assistance and sympathy?

Also to burst your bubble of jealousy, I notified the principle and right now I have extra time for anything though I narrowed it down to just timed English essays itself.

You think we're jealous? You're so out of touch. Why would we be jealous? We all think, at least I do, that you're pathetic for whining about not having enough time. Why on earth would I think I be jealous that you talked to administration and got more time? Suffer with the rest of them..

It's ok though. I know you're like this because you're from BC.

As you know Gr. 11 English mark is important to a degree and something

i found this to be the most amusing thing you said actually... your grade 11 english mark means absolutely jack in terms of university... they couldn't care less... there was no "injustice" learn to deal with it.. when a teacher screws ure mark, you work hard so that they cant... dont take the easy way out by getting half an hour extra... just work half an hour harder?

u getting a 90 in the same time as the rest of your peers is probably not even half as much effort on your part as most of the kids on these forums have put into their studies to get into the university of their choices.. lifes a bleep, no1 really cares about you as an individual and rightly so... you need to stand on ure own feet....

Learn to write faster? For my ENG4U exam I wrote about 2100 words in two hours. (95%)

My classmates who wrote like 700 words were puzzled why they received 50s as well.
If you can't write non-stop for a few hours rather than a few days, I'm sorry to say but you're going to have a hard time in university. I don't care if English is your 50th language or if you came to this country yesterday, if you're in the same course as others, you should not receive extra time/attention. If you need that extra time, I suggest downgrading to an easier course.

Whatever, for most of us, Linkin Park's "In The End" is the national anthem of english class.

If someone has a really hard-marking Eng teacher, they should take that song and 'analyze' it for a media assignment. Lots of laughs guaranteed. Marks, on the otherhand, not guaranteed.

Aren't there some universities that look at Grade 11 english mark when you are applying for university if you take Grade 12 english second semester?

For early admission they'll look at your Grade 11 marks but they don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

That's not true. One of my friends who didn't have english last semester got in during the first round. His grade 11 english mark was a 55. I kid you not.

wtf?

I swear Schulich's overhyped

I spoke with a UTSG rep and their policy is to expect your missing grades at or below grade 11 standards.

So i guess some universities would look at grade 11, some dont

they only look at them for Early acceptances (Jan - Late Feb) then your first semester marks get sent through and they start figuring out how you've done and how you can be expected to do for your missing classes based on how well you handled your first semester (and by taking a peek at your gr 11, but if your expecting acceptance at this point you shouldnt need to worry about gr 11 marks anyways) (March-Early April) then your second semester mid-terms come out and the final acceptances are sent (at this point all gr 11 marks are disregarded) ...

and it doesnt matter WHEN you get accepted... its either you get in or you dont get in... the time you get in has no bearing on anything to do with your university future... I wont lie that early acceptance is a stress reliever though razz

So 80 percent average in english is ok I guess in the grand scheme of things?

Btw, when I said I was striving for an A i was actually striving for 86 percent average.

No university in Canada will reject you because of a grade 11 English mark in the low 80s.

Very few if any would reject you because of a grade 11 English mark over 70%.

You should be failing English if you can't read and comprehend everything we have all said in this thread.

Which you have proven you can't do.
