Does anyone know of good companies that offer scholarships? (like Tim Horton's for example) Or if Moxie's CLass Grill does?

If you're looking for enjoyable jobs, apply through mosaicjobs.com

They have tons of promotional jobs in areas across the country, including summer jobs, and part time jobs through out the year

try banks too they usually have lots of programs for work training. if you can't get it through a bank talk to your career counselors at school they can usually get you work experience credits that also pay

I'm in college.

Wow, this is a LOT more feedback than I was expecting! I've been applying for absolutely everything, but you guys gave me a lot more ideas of places to look.

A call centre did contactme, but since my summer is 4 months, i'm not sure if it's worth it.

At Tim Hortons, it was minimum wage with a possible wage increase after 6 months. At least that's what it was like when I worked there almost a year ago.

Staying with a self employed employer is a good way to go. I have had the same summer job since i was 14, started with 6.50 an hour and now I'm up to 10.50, which is higher then the 7.70 or whatever minimum wage is. Although when working with someone who is selfemployed, they have to be doing well financially like my boss.

Wow, that's a lot of replies! Thanks a lot guys!
just as an update, I actually got TWO jobs (finally!)
I'm going to be working at/running a summer day camp, and I'm also going to be working at the PNE at playland.

So I'm pretty excited!

This summer is going to be the death of me. Working 2 full time jobs.
1. Mornings serving breakfast at a hotel. 6am-1pm
2. Evenings serving at Shoeless Joe's in the Casino. 5pm-god knows when.. 11pm-1am.

I'm going to crush with making tips, and am taking a week off to see the boy in Calgary. I look forward to being physically run down doing this 5-6 days a week haha. GOTTA LOVE MONEY<333.

Staples

I currently work at Staples in Furniture and Aisles and make a little more than the increased min. wage of $8.75 because we make just a litttlee more so I make $8.90 an hour.

Summer looks to be busy.. but

1)I know I will WILL WILL hate working there for 8 hours a day in the summer

2)On the other hand, if I get crappy part-time-like shifts all the time, it just wouldn't be worth it working there..

Right now I get crap hours at Staples and get $150 per paycheque on a bad one, and $250 on a good one. I want $250-300 darn it! (and in the summer, $300-450)

So I've been applying to other places, and Bluenotes wants to interview me tomorrow *crosses fingers

Also applied to:
-Library for Shelving Assistant (probably won't happen, but would be the most relaxing summer job for me personally)
-Gamestop Associate (would love this, just as I love most types of video games big grin - this job *could* happen if I'm lucky)
-Grand and Toy (it's like Staples... but smaller, with less selection, and lax sales methods! big grin)
-Mall Bookstore (I forget it's name - I would love working there, but I tried once before and I'm just not sure about this time...)
-Downtown Bookstore (not really hiring, but hey, someone could die or somethin, :S, how morbid)

If these don't work (though Bluenotes likely will), then I'll apply to restaurants around here as a server.

I want either 1 full time job, or 2 part-time jobs for the summer.

~~~Accepted offer to Ba Honors English @ Carleton Univerity, Ottawa big grin~~~
I worked as a shelving assistant at my school library all year... honestly, try not to work at that TOO long if you're not expecting a good pay/promotions because it becomes DEATHLY boring. A good job overall (location and such) but the people there expect a ton out of you (really fast, no breaks) and I only got paid $8/hr. I've acutally applied for the public library because they're WAY better than the campus one. Plus they pay upwards of $10/hr, which is always nice.
