It's not the fact that you might not get in, but how can you possibly be proud of achieving your goal through lies? how are you going to tell your children about how you lied in order to get into a school? are you going to lie to them too?

Ya, so if you get in, you're going to have to live you entire life being scared that it will be found out that you lied on your application. That sure would suck, because if you're caught later, your punishment could be pretty bad. Just don't lie.

Personally, I think anyone should be expelled if it's revealed that they (purposely and maliciously) lied on their application, even if it's 3 or 4 years later. We can do the same thing at work, and the same should be done in schools.

furthermore if you get into a program where everyone has been active with their ECs then they are going to ask you what you did last summer, then you go:

1. i didnt do anything

at which point they will be what the hell how did you get in

or

2. i did _______

then they go i did _____ too lets talk about it

then you go on lying for the rest of your life

Lying is bad, because a simple reference check will F**K you over.

A little exaggerating never hurt nobody though..

For sure, lie about your ECs. Go ahead!
And make sure they call your references to check.
