If you are born in 1992..and are a Ontario resident consider taking part in Rangers. It is a summer job for students the year going into grade 12..and only that summer! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. You are hired by the Ministry of Naturel Resources. MAybe other provinces or territories have it aswell I don't know but check it out ..search on google for ranger summer youth employment. I took part in this the past summer. I'd highly recommend it. For many of you it may be too late but if you have younger siblings or friends please advise them!!! cheers

i'm thinking of joining something called International Student Volunteers
theres a whole bunch of different countries you can go volunteer in for 2 weeks .. then for another week there's all these adventure activities that depend on the country your in ... like in new zealand they've got blackwater rafting, which is like whitewater rafting but in a pitch black cave!!

Last year I participated in a summer exchange... I went to Quebec for 6 weeks and worked in a Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi (career councilling, sort of like a high school's guidance office). The job was pretty non-exciting, but it gave me money and the opportunity to improve my french, and on the weekends I went places with the other exchange students. That part was definitely awesome and I met some really amazing people.
Admittedly this program is a little limited... (only to students who want to learn French), but you don't have to be a genuis in French class to qualify... I know one guy knew almost nothing when he came (he started studying French a couple weeks before the exchange began) but he could converse almost as well as the rest of us by the end of it.
It was really fun, and it's great if you want to go somewhere for the summer but can't afford not to work.

This summer i am going on a mission to Grenada from July 15 to Aug 2 or there abouts.. we are just going to spread the word of God to the people and hopefully help them in any way they need. THere are a lot of men out there that are just getting women pregnant and have like 50 kids but dont take care of them at all so if we can help by educated the men.. maybe we could help a few kids have father figures.. or at least have mothers that have support.

I was going to go to Shad Valley but I forgot to hand in my bursary app, so its too expensive even though I got in.

In August, I'm going to SUNIA (Seminar on the United Nations and International Affairs). It's a week long camp at the Goldeye (I think) centre near Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

I'm so excited!

Other than that, I will be working a lot and doing some summer school courses online.

Planting trees in Alberta smile I had a friend who did that.

There's also the government sponsored ones like SEED.
