As thrilled as I am with the prospect of the 'easy money' that this contest is offering, I'm not so sure about some of the attitudes toward it. I wouldn't say this is for the lazy generation at all. It's for kids who do try hard but don't necessarily get the grades or have the athletic ability, but who can still contribute to the world and are hoping to get a university education. It's also to get students to recognize these forums and the resources they provide.

I hope this award doesn't go to some lazy student looking for easy money, but someone who has posted helpful tips for other students. To those people, good luck!

this is a pretty random scholarship but a great opportunity ...

however not all scholarships are necessarily aimed at those who have the best grades ...
a lot of them depend on community involvement
and its really easy to volunteer and stuff like that
they also look at school clubs, etc ...
you don't need to be a superkid to get involved at school!

I am pretty happy that everyone has an equall chance to win. There are no high requirements for this scholarship.

Its a decent idea, I just don't like the fact that people who posted 5 crappy posts just to get to the 5 post marks are just as eligible as everyone else.
Maybe I'm just bitter because I tend to have bad luck.

I love this, i mean yeah i play sports because i love them, but i can't hold close to a 95% average. the sad thing is that a lot of those "superkids" just cheat and get those grads and recognition because everyone bows to them cause they're "awesome".

Umm. How do you cheat to get good grades. Do you really think kids winning scholarships are such because they secretly steal all the tests beforehand? rofl... They call references to check what you did. If your "love"ing a random contest, I don't think its fair to cut up kids who actually did something for what they got just because you were not so fortunate.

Yeah, exactly. I'm not sure how you can paint everyone who does well as a cheater.
