ANYONE can and will be hired. On the shifts composed of part-timeers, 50% of the people were very young (15ish) and had little to no work ethic. Pay is minimum wage. "Raises" are 5-10 cents every 3 months or so, based on evaluations. Many times for me, I was evaluated by someone who I did not work with and was scored unfairly. The management at my store was horrendous, and they could not choose suitable candidates for supervising positions. I was passed over twice for the reason that "I was too friendly with my coworkers." They thought I wouldn't be able to take charge of people because I was friends with them. Ridiculous. I proved them wrong of course, by being the best person to run the kitchen they ever had on the weekend...
Customers are lousy. They will complain about anything and everything. They will order a coffee with 6 milks (more than half the cup!) and complain the coffee is not warm enough. People will insult you for not "doing your job properly." Many times my coworkers were verbally abused by customers.
As someone previously stated, being a baker is the best position because you are away from customers, however it is VERY hard work. Not in complexity of tasks, but in keeping up with every task you have to do. I was constantly managing at least 4 or 5 different things. The only up-side was that time passed by quickly.
Just so you know what you're getting yourself into. If you're looking for a summer job after first year, I would recommend finding a warehouse or something to work in that pays better and where you will deal with half of the crap! .. Thanx for the Info... I do not think I got hired, it has been 2 days since I dropped off my application..

Any other entry-level job on the food service industry I'm sure is pretty much the same. Yes, it sucks. But you can't expect much more from a minimum wage job intended as a first job for most. If you are 18 years of age, there are many better choices for you as a high-school graduate. Try applying to beer stores or liquor stores, they tend to pay above minimum wage, here in Ontario at least they do.Working in an actual restaurant, even doing dishes may be better due to a lower volume of customers. Basically, play the field. Odds are, you can find something better. Try a temp agency, read job ads in the newspaper. DO NOT be complacent, and I'm sure you'll find something decent. The best jobs are the ones you would never think of first.
2 days? Be patient! I had to chase and play phone tag with my current employer for a month! Call them back in a couple days. It is very easy to be hired on at Tim Horton's, even with no prior work experience.

Well checking this out .I was helping my daughter look for a job What about Harvey’s hamburgers has anyone worked there? Not that I would like her to work there. After the fun I had in high school as a part time job it was the best girls girls girls Not a very busy place I had a lot of fun there I remember we closed at 12 am once myself and Roseanna stayed late to do inventory 1 hr job LOL and we punched out at 6:15 am That was not the only time things like that happened (new girls every 2 weeks) It was the perfect job for a 16 yo young man Is it not like that anymore? That’s why I won’t let her work there LOL

I think not everyone realizes that the shots of milk are proportional to the size of the cup - 6 milks in an extra large gives you the same ratio of milk:coffee as 6 milks in a small.
FAQ's: 1. Will I get in? See: electronicinfo.ca for Ontario schools. If you have a couple percent above the marks there and it's not looking at supplementary, the answer is almost certainly yes. 2. Anything else: Google it before asking.

If you're applying, apply for baker position. Second-highest paying position. You have to be quick with your hands, stand in a -20c freezer, and deal with high stress situations. Time flies though, but it's the BEST job at a tim hortons.

This is why when you apply for jobs, don't just apply to 1 place, rather than hand out 20-30 resumes whatever (unless you are EXTREMELY you'll be hired by that 1 place you submitted your resume).

McDonald, I remember I had an interview with them when I was in grade 11, that was years ago already! I didn't pass the interview. Well, first of all, I don't really want to work there anyways. Secondly, I still remember that day the rain was pouring outside, so when I went in there... my appearance just didn't look that great. First impression is gone just like that.
As for Tim Hortons, my boyfriend worked there before, many years ago. He hated there sooo much. Then there was a period that I REALLY needed money, so I applied to the same Tim Hortons location that he worked at. The manager knows our relationship and she has a very good impression of my boyfriend, so I got hired right on the spot. But, I turned them down eventually.
