Anyway, until I'm notified otherwise, I may as well assume that formatives are unnecessary. Also: "I have been teaching English for 17 years." Sshhiitt... McGill Engineering 2014

Stop whining and suck it up and do it.
It's summer school, therefore it can't be worse than doing it in day school.

If it says you don't have to hand it in, it means that the teacher won't take marks off if you don't hand it in.
Formative = not for marks

omg I just finished e-class ENG4U1 it was SO easy just do the assignments you have to hand in for marks if you dont get at least a 75 theres a serious problem...I didnt do the three major novel study assignments ...pretty much an entire Unit and I still got a 75...granted it dropped from a 85 to a 75 because of that but pfft it was simple.
Do the assignments only thats all you need its easy as sin

i did the formative assignments for like the first half of the course but then when i ran out of time i didnt do any of them and they didnt care, but it will most likely depend on your teacher, mine was strict at the start then as everyone was handing in everything at once the teacher got to busy and didnt care so much for the forumative work

Well, my teacher sent me an e-mail saying that I had to do this formative assignment that I missed if I would like to stay in the class... so I guess I'm out of luck. Whatever, I can just rush the formatives.
Oh, and it's not that I'm complaining because I find English hard - I don't - I just think that it's the most pretentious waste-of-time class that you have to take in high school and I despise it.

crap... I have had literally zero free time this week... make that negative free time... damned work and English class!
Anyway, I seem to be getting straights 4s on every single assignment so far. A 4 is pretty vague, but since each assignment I've gotten back has four 4s on it, I would assume that it's a good thing. So... take English online if you can! There's a lot of writing, but it's better than sitting in class for a whole semester.

I heard TDSB online English is a joke, while the surrounding school boards aren't lol (like even the Catholic one is harder)
