Hey there,

I'm just writing this mainly to reach my quota of five messages, but I was wondering how many students out there are parents or expecting to be soon?

My girlfriend is seven months pregnant and we're due to have a baby girl (Michaela) in late June. I'm currently finishing up my first of a three year program and have no intentions of dropping out.

Anybody out there have some similar experiences?

My sister became pregnant with her first son during her first year of college. I guess she only planned on taking a year off, but she ended up not going back at all. She could be a nurse right now; instead she works for my dad, delivering dentures to dentists. Surprisingly, however, she is actually a very good mother, so I am proud of her, and I know she doesn't regret having my nephew the least bit. Regardless, she should have went back to school... I don't know how popular contraceptives were 15 years ago...

Way to go! There is nothing I respect more then people having children in University and still going through. It's an added burden for sure, but I know you'll do great!

I'm a single mother of my 18 month old daughter. I became pregnant in my last year of high school, thankfully was able to graduate and now am taking child/youth care and addictions counselling in community college. I'm hoping to get my undergrad in psychology and then my masters in counseling. Let me tell you - it's HARD work but it IS possible. use community resources available to you, don't be afraid to ask for help, stay organized and PRIORITIZE!
