We have our annual spirit week before spring break [this week!] and not a lot of people dress up. Even when we try to make things interesting as a part of the Student Council, it really depends on the students on how much they would like to participate. Anyone have any ideas on how to pump up a high school's school spirit or any activities for the end of the year? All comments are greatly appreciated!

All comments are greatly appreciated! do you guys have a grad trip? like to the US or the caribbean or anywhere? maybe have a themed dress up day (like a beach day---those usually work well in the winter when everyone's tired of the snow). if you don't have a grad trip officially, maybe you could at least arrange some sort of trip--to the beach or a national park for camping or something like that.

try getting the teachers to agree to cancel a day of classes and have just a fun day for all the students. I organized the last half day before winter break as one, we had a guitar hero tournament, floor hockey, a pankake breakfast, DDR, kareoke, weightlifting contest, it was awesome, and all the teachers loved it too and they all helped with whatever i asked them. we're having another one this friday to finish off our school's spirit week as well, a full day this time.

i organized a ski trip for my school and it was a huge success! i recommend doing something like this where everyone can get away together and forget about school for a week or so. its a great grad activity

My school has joined in with a bunch of other schools for this event called WonderGrad. It's a student run event, so a lot more students tend to come out because they know that there will be more leniance with rules and they know that there won't be anything stupid like a curfew on a saturday night. What basically happens is that students get order forms and send in their money to the compant running the event, and then a week before the trip to Wonderland, a list is sent out with the names of the people allowed on each school's bus. The bus drives us down Friday night, where we spend a night in a hotel, and then spend all day Saturday at Wonderland, where there is a huge concert planned and the park is closed to all civilians, so its just Canada's Grads of '08. It's a great event and it really gets the students excited and brings them back to school with a lot of energy for the final semester!  Any kinda trip like that tends to pep up the student body, but if you only take a specific group, like seniors, it tends to make the younger grades more excited as well, because it gives them special sorta "VIP" events to look forward to in their future years.

I dont think that my school has any end trips, but maybe ill try and organize one. For school spirit days we have pj day, winter wear day, school colours day
