Does anyone have any suggestions on how to balance school and a part time job?

Don't be afraid to ask for fewer hours. And make it clear to your employer that you are not willing to sacrifice your GPA in favour of a part time job.

You'll have to cut down on other things you do in your free time like going out to watch movies or hanging out with friends. And try your best to limit procrastination and wasting time in general (being hypocritical here). And be realistic about how many hours you work per week, like make sure it's manageable for you. On normal school weeks, I usually work on weekends for a total of 15 hours/week and it's been alright. And make sure your employer is cool with you taking a week or two off before final exams so you can focus on studying. Good luck! Narrator: Tobias went to a try-out for the Blue Man Group hoping to be seen. *Tobias is hit by a car* Narrator: Unfortunately, it was dusk, and he couldn't be seen.

I work at GAP, and I know that they're always looking to cut hours. If you just let them know you're willing to work less, they'll be more than happy to accomodate you since they're saving money. You can just work weekends too, it's not that bad. Sometimes I work 20 hours a week, sometimes I work 4. It's easy to manage if you have a good boss.

I'm still trying to *find* a job in my town for the summer...I want to earn as much money as I can before school starts. Then we'll see about having both a job and doing school.

I totally recommend trying to find a job on campus. They are uber convenient and if you get a CUPE job they actually pay pretty well.
