I have watched many movies that have changed my life. Good movies are entertaining. Great movies are life-changing.

Oh do you like to debate.

The majority of movies aren't meant to be life changing. If that is what they do great. But first and foremost they are to be entertainment.

It depends on the type of movie. Most of the movies which are critical successes are the movies that say something important. It's the same with books. There are a lot of entertaining books but the ones that are considered great have a message in them that people can relate to. I like watching both entertaining and theme-intensive movies. Depends on my mood and what I'm looking for at that particular time.

What's wrong with debating? What other purpose does an internet forum serve if not to share and debate information?

Yes, but there's a difference between debating, and being arrogant. Anyway. If you go to any store, movies are in the entertainment section and not the self-help section.

I'm just offering you an alternative viewpoint. If you think that's arrogant, I don't really know what to tell you. You offered several people an alternative viewpoint when they said they didn't agree with people being homosexual. Are you being arrogant for disagreeing with them?

Oh, movies are in the entertainment section? Wow, so are novels! I guess a book (or the movie version) like "To Kill A Mockingbird" is just for entertainment and it has no thematic value. worry

Having thematic value does not make it life changing.

That's the whole point of a theme. You're gay if I remember correctly, right? Watch the movie called "Philadelphia" and tell me that isn't life-changing for a large number of people.

has anyone seen any good ones lately at the movie theatre?
are they just getting worse?

Right now there are no movies that look really good, or that I really want to see, is it just me, or are there no good movies out?

What do you guys think? (okay, I guess you guys don't think)

I watched jumper it was really good. i liked it. the only think i disliked was the ending. i think it could have been better. this is a good action/adventure movie. not so much comedy. a good movie according to you could be different. it depends what types of movies you are interested in.

oh yeah i've seen jumper and it was pretty good, but it seemed rushed. like he has this power, then they have these random people coming after him, its like they just kinda threw that in and didnt think about it too much.

yeah the ending was..i dunno. it probably couldve been better, but overall i really liked the movie. I would definitely watch it again/ buy it.

I recently saw "Jumper" with Hayden Christensen (sp?) and Rachel Bilson. It's a good movie, a bit weird but I reccommend it!

I work at the theater, and trust me, good movies are lacking this year. Horton Hears a Who has done pretty well though, obviously, because it's a kids movie. WALL.E looks like a pretty good movie.

WALL.E ?

Look it up on YouTube. It's scheduled release is June 27th. It's a kids movie to, but it's made by Disney/Pixar, and often they come out with movies even older people can enjoy, like Toy Story. I'm definitely excited for it.

That is so true. In actuality, if the majority of movies you watched changed your life, your life would have a totally different meaning each and every day, and in the end, really have no true meaning at all, because in fact, you're just allowing movies to depict the way you think and act.
