The ticket for our grad is 50$, this includes supper+dance.. the thing I find a little shoddy about that is, it's either you go to all of it, or none of it at all since there isn't really a difference price for say, if you decided to only go to the dance and not the supper.
So it's going to be something like 500$ for me, if we're thinking about prom dress+shoes+banquet ticket+limo (50$/each)+ everything else for the afterparties I suppose. I'm lucky because my parents are paying for the dress+shoes+ticket... but everything else I'm having to pay. I'm just really hoping that as a grand total, that my parents and I won't have to spend more than 500$. Like someone else mentioned, I have to save up for university, so while I want to experience grad/prom to the fullest, I'm really not looking to spend exorbitant amounts of money. [well, depends on what you consider exorbitant, I suppose it's different for everyone] If I can avoid spending money on something, I'll do it.

if i find a dress, which i might, might not, i wont spend over 200
i'm not renting a limo, not getting my hair done

Ahhh...

Proms sound so cool!

Too bad we don't have them here. We only have banquets... hehe.

I don't plan to spend alot. Grad to me is like any other special occasion. Wear something nice, act like a totally different person (or someone with attitude because you can't stand how fake everyone is), eat some good or bad food, game during dinner, and go home. XD

But I guess I'll be somewhat a traditionalist with a few friends... so I plan to spend about $20 - $100 for a grad dress (I might be getting mine made outside of the country, that's why I start cheap)

and then the rest of the stuff such as hair and makeup... well.. I'm going to be cheap, buy some new makeup... some shadows and stuff. :3 for perhaps up to 15 or 20 dollars?

And then for hair... I really don't care, I can do it myself thank you very much. <3

Accesories and stuff I'm not too fond of... don't want so much weight on me. :3

But argh, aside from the personal appearance expenses... there is the banquet fee. Ugh. For us it's usually $75 ... and I have a lot of people who want to come with me so it kinda is really pricey!

Oh and I guess I'm going to be investing in contacts too... but I'm cheap so I'll just use free trial ones! xDDD

"When there is a reason, there is a way." - Even if there is a way though... you can't be lazy. =p

Accessories: $50 (including shoes)

Grad:

Tickets: Free

Accessories : $0 - pre-owned

***Anyways, anyone going to their prom this year, definitely go across the border and check out what they have there.
I went to the states a week before my prom in search of my dress, and luckily for me, the area I shopped in had already had their "Spring Formal'' "prom' or 'grad' because many of the dresses were all on sale! It was great.
They did have higher end stores with outrageous dress prices, but my dress was a steal! It is an amazing gown. When I first looked at it I definitely thought it would be over $500.00, Amazingly the original price was $300.00 which was reduced to $225, which was further reduced to $150.00 which was further reduced to $79.99!!!!! and with great exchange rate, there was hardly an increase in what we paid.

Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success. If you love what you do in life, you will be a success!!
